Description (About the Facility)

Established in 2012 by the Public Service Society as a private health institution specializing in diagnostic and therapeutic catheterization and open-heart surgeries, the Cardiovascular Hospital is located on Omar al-Mukhtar Street in Gaza City with a clinical capacity of 5 beds[1].

The Public Service Society was established in Gaza City in 1993 and operates in the neighborhoods of Sabra, Tuffah, and Daraj. It is a non-profit charitable organization that provides medical services at reduced treatment costs.

Funding Details
In 2014: The Public Service Society implemented a Memorandum of Understanding with Al Multazam Insurance and Investment Company[2].

In 2015: The World Bank, under the supervision of the Palestinian NGO Development Center, funded training courses for health education and psychological support workers[3].

In 2016: The Association of Palestinian Doctors in Europe implemented a prosthetic eye fitting project.

In 2018: UNRWA contracted with the Cardiovascular Hospital, allowing UNRWA to fund medical referrals to the hospital[4] .

In 2020: The Public Service Society hospitals started a discounted surgery project funded by the Poor Patient Fund[5] .

In 2015: A kidney and urology clinic and a hematology clinic opened at the Cardiovascular Hospital[10][11].

In 2016: The reception and emergency department opened at the hospital[12].

In 2020: The maternity department opened at the hospital[13].

In 2022: A drinking water desalination project was inaugurated with funding from the Mutahhabibun fi Allah team, in coordination with the Palestinian Zakat Organization[14].

In 2022: The Cardiovascular Hospital's management stated that the hospital was suffering due to a lack of funding and shortages of medical equipment, medicines, and fuel needed to operate the hospital.
