About the Platform

The platform "Documenting the Targeting and Destruction of the Health Sector in the Gaza Strip" presents accurate and detailed information about the Israeli assault on health during the genocidal war. This includes data on the attacks on healthcare facilities and health workers who have been killed, abducted, tortured, and maimed by Israeli forces during the genocide, and relevant statements by international organizations and healthcare institutions. These are complemented by original analysis by researchers and authors covering a range of issues in the targeting of the health sector, through which Israeli occupation forces have created a "war biosphere". Read more

Invasion of Kamal Adwan Hospital

Occupation forces stormed the hospital, arresting its director, Dr. Ahmad al-Kahlout, and all medical staff. Everyone was interrogated and some tortured inside the emergency department and al-Kahlout and more than 70 medical staff were abducted to an unknown destination. The occupation forces shoot at some of those released, injuring five people. 65 wounded and 12 sick children in pediatric care remained at the hospital without electricity, water, or food.

Siege of Kamal Adwan Hospital

Occupation forces surrounded the hospital, and snipers climbed the buildings surrounding the hospital, firing heavily in the direction of the courtyards and patients' rooms. The Ministry of Health stated that medical staff and the wounded were without water, food or treatment.

On December 16, 2023: Occupation forces withdrew from the hospital after four days of siege.
