About the Platform

The platform "Documenting the Targeting and Destruction of the Health Sector in the Gaza Strip" presents accurate and detailed information about the Israeli assault on health during the genocidal war. This includes data on the attacks on healthcare facilities and health workers who have been killed, abducted, tortured, and maimed by Israeli forces during the genocide, and relevant statements by international organizations and healthcare institutions. These are complemented by original analysis by researchers and authors covering a range of issues in the targeting of the health sector, through which Israeli occupation forces have created a "war biosphere". Read more

28 premature babies safely evacuated from Al Shifa Hospital to Egypt

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) is relieved to hear that 28 of the surviving premature babies, who were forced out of incubators at Gaza’s Shifa Hospital by Israel’s denial of generator fuel, have been safely evacuated to Egypt.

Three premature babies still remain at the Emirati Field Hospital in southern Gaza. Sadly, two babies died before their evacuation, as Israel’s besiegement of Shifa Hospital deprived them of the care they needed.

“The situation is indescribable. We have no option but to try and survive.”

Women are being disproportionately and devastatingly impacted by Israel’s indiscriminate bombardment and total siege of Gaza. The majority of those injured or killed are women and children, and dire living conditions are exacerbating the risk of malnutrition, diseases, and maternal and newborn mortality.

Almost 2 million Palestinians have been forcibly displaced within Gaza, with reports indicating Israeli plans for mass displacement outside of Gaza itself.

This humanitarian catastrophe must be addressed urgently within the framework of international law and human rights principles.

MAP bolsters emergency response amid escalating attacks on healthcare in the West Bank

While the world’s attention has focused on Israel’s indiscriminate bombardment and siege on Gaza, military and settler violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank surged after 7 October 2023 and shows no signs of letting up.

In response to this escalating violence, Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) is bolstering its emergency response in the West Bank.
