On October 8, 2023: Director of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital Dr. Iyad Abu Zaher announced the closure of the women's and maternity department and its transfer to Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat to accommodate as many of the wounded as possible[2].

On November 3, 2023: The dialysis department was cut off from fresh water due to the consumption and bottling of fresh water by the local population as a result of the occupation’s decision to prevent water from entering Gaza. There was also a lack of capacity to accommodate premature babies in incubators, forcing the medical staff to place more than one baby in each incubator and use milk made from non-potable water[2].

On November 6, 2023: Al Jazeera published statements by Director Dr. Abu Zaher, about the presence of strange and complex injuries, as children arrived without shrapnel marks, and all abdominal tissues and internal organs were lacerated and melted. Dr. Abu Zaher also said that the displacement of the residents of the northern Gaza Strip had led to an increase in the number of sick and injured people, reaching between 650,000 and 750,000 people, and that the hospital's clinical capacity had increased by 1000%. Furthermore, he noted that the aid coming from the Rafah crossing is not sufficient to address the hospital's needs[2].

On December 10, 2023: Occupation forces targeted the perimeter of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital with firebombs, causing damage to walls and health services vehicles[14].

On January 6, 2024: Doctors Without Borders (MSF) evacuated its medical staff from the hospital after the occupation forces order them to leave the hospital. As heavy shelling around the hospital continued MSF also announced that the number of martyrs arriving at the hospital exceeded the number of wounded[15][16].

On January 7, 2024: The Ministry of Health announced that occupation forces attacked departments and yards of the hospital, targeting anyone who moved inside the hospital. Medical Aid for Palestine and the International Rescue Committee evacuated their staff due to Israel declaring the area around the hospital a “red zone”[17].

On January 10, 2024: Occupation forces targeted Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital with airstrikes, completely destroying the hospital's gate, one of the neighboring buildings, and causing damage to the reception department. More than 40 people were martyred, including journalist Ahmed Bdeir, and dozens were injured[18][19].

On January 12, 2024: The Gaza Media Office stated that the hospital's electricity supply was cut off[20].

On January 13, 2024: Israeli forces heavy and continuous shelled in the vicinity of the hospital, as artillery shells landed near the hospital[21].

On February 4, 2024: Medical staff were displaced, and the hospital's staff dwindled from 450 people to 100 doctors[22].

On February 7, 2024: The hospital returned to operation after being shut down on January 6. The hospital's medical staff provided orthopedic and reconstructive surgery, wound care, physiotherapy and psychological support[23].

On February 10, 2024: The United Nations Fund, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) provided medicines and medical supplies to the hospital[24].

On February 14, 2024: According to an UNOCHA report, six Palestinians were reportedly killed and 18 others were injured when land next to the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Hospital was hit by an Israeli strike[25]. According to the UNOCHA report, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital suffered from a shortage of materials and supplies[26]. 

On March 6, 2024: Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital spokesperson Dr. Khalil al-Daqran stated that there was an acute shortage of medical supplies[27].

On March 13, 2024: The WHO provided medicines and medical supplies to 80,000 patients and wounded at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. The WHO also assessed the hospital's clinical capacity and the status of water, hygiene and sanitation in the hospital[28]. 

On March 14, 2024: WHO director-general Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that there were 140 health workers, 70% of whom are volunteers, serving 650 patients in the hospital in addition to about 250 patients treated in the emergency room daily[29]. In addition to health service needs, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital suffered from water, sanitation, and hygiene issues. The report also reported that there are 7,000 displaced people inside the hospital.

On March 20, 2024: Two people were martyred due to oxygen depletion and the failure of generators at the hospital[30].

On March 31, 2024: Occupation warplanes targeted one of the tents inside of the hospital and occupation forces open fire at hospital, martyring four people and injuring 17 others. [31][32]. 

On April 19, 2024: The representative of the United Nations Housing Fund stated that women's and maternity services at the hospital had been suspended[33].

On May 7, 2024: Local media reported that a quadcopter had flown over the hospital[34].

On May 10, 2024: The Palestinian Information Center reported that the hospital administration announced that the hospital's fuel tank was about to run out[35].

On May 23, 2024: The hospital lost power after running out of fuel[36][37].

On June 8,2014: Occupation forces targeted vicinity of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital with warplanes amid intense aerial and ground fire cover over several areas in Central Governorate, resulting in a large number of wounded and martyrs arriving at the hospital.The Media Office in Gaza announced that the number of martyrs from occupation massacres in Al-Nuseirat Camp reached 210, with more than 400 injured individuals arriving at Al-Awda Nuseirat Hospital and Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital up to this date. Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital has been evacuated after direct threat of bombing by occupation forces[38][39].

On June 10, 2024: The Ministry of Health stated that one of the hospital's two main generators had failed and that the hospital was experiencing a power shortage[40]. 

On June 17, 2024: Deputy Director of al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital Dr. Iyad al-Ja'bari stated that the hospital was operating at four times its capacity and suffered from a shortage of medical supplies[41].

On July 10, 2024: The hospital’s Director Abu Zaher appealed to the international community and the WHO to protect the medical staff, noting that the hospital is on the brink of collapse[42].

On July 22, 2024: Occupation forces targeted a tent where journalists were working in the yard of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital[43].

On July 27, 2024: Occupation forces targeted a field medical unit in the vicinity of the hospital, killing 30 Palestinians and injuring more than 100 others[44][45].

On July 29, 2024: A report by Doctors Without Borders said that Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital is operating about three times over its capacity, as the hospital receives 550-600 patients and injured, while its capacity before the genocidal war was 220 beds[46]. 

On August 4, 2024: Occupation forces targeted the tents of displaced people in the vicinity of the hospital, martyring 5 people and injuring more than 18 others[47].

On August 8, 2024: The Gaza Media Office announced that Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital was the only government hospital providing services in Gaza[48]. 

On August 21, 2024: The Ministry of Health warned that the occupation forces were approaching the vicinity of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, and called on international organizations to take the necessary measures to protect the hospital[49].

On August 25, 2024: The Ministry of Health stated that the occupation forces declared the vicinity of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital as a military operation zone, which prompted a large number of patients to evacuate the hospital while around 100 patients remained in the hospital. The ministry emphasized that the health crews were committed to providing services to the patients in the hospital[50].

On August 26, 2024: The occupation army issued orders to evacuate the area where Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital is located, while around 100 patients remained in the hospital, eight of them in the intensive care rooms and eight premature babies in the nursery[51].

On September 1, 2024: A WHO delegation arrived at the hospital to implement a polio vaccination plan[52].

On September 2, 2024: Occupation forces launched an airstrike on the vicinity of the hospital[53].

On September 5, 2024: Occupation forces targeted the tents of displaced persons at the hospital[54].
