Gaza: Israel targets Palestinian civilians trying to access communications and internet services

Geneva - The recent statement by United Nations experts on Israel’s flagrant human rights violations of Palestinian women and girls in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank was welcomed by Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor. The rights group emphasised the significance of the statement given the Israeli genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, ongoing since 7 October 2023.

Geneva - As part of its genocide against the Gaza Strip that has been ongoing since 7 October 2023, the Israeli army has been using small drones (or quadcopters) to fire directly at Palestinians, killing and injuring many of them, Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor has documented.

Recall Samuel Huntington’s controversial, yet influential, 1993 Foreign Affairs article, “The Clash of Civilizations,” which ends with the provocative phrase, “The West against the rest.” Although the article seemed far-fetched 30 years ago, it now seems prophetic in its discernment of a post-Cold War pattern of inter-civilizational rivalry.

Geneva - After forcing Palestinian civilians to flee from Gaza City to the area of Al-Mawasi in the Gaza Strip’s south, the Israeli army has killed these same civilians at the Wadi Gaza checkpoint in the central Gaza Strip. Israeli forces also targeted civilians waiting for aid trucks near the checkpoint, Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor reported.

Geneva - In new testimonies documented by Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, female Palestinian detainees from the Gaza Strip report being subjected to sexual violence, torture, inhuman treatment, strip searches, sexual harassment, and rape threats while being arrested and held by Israeli army forces.

Geneva - As Israel continues its genocide in the Gaza Strip, ongoing since 7 October 2023, Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor has documented the Israeli army’s sadistic abuse and torture of Palestinians there. This includes purposefully causing severe physical and psychological harm, which will undoubtedly have long-term effects, after storming their homes and shelter centres or attacking them on forced evacuation routes and so-called “safe corridors”.

Geneva - Israeli army forces opened fire at thousands of Palestinian civilians awaiting aid supplies west and south of Gaza City, killing at least 100 of them and wounding 600 others, Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor said in a statement issued Thursday.

Despite the ruling of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) requiring Israel to take action to stop the crime of genocide against the Palestinian people, Israel has refused to deescalate its military attack on the Gaza Strip.
