About the Platform

The platform "Documenting the Targeting and Destruction of the Health Sector in the Gaza Strip" presents accurate and detailed information about the Israeli assault on health during the genocidal war. This includes data on the attacks on healthcare facilities and health workers who have been killed, abducted, tortured, and maimed by Israeli forces during the genocide, and relevant statements by international organizations and healthcare institutions. These are complemented by original analysis by researchers and authors covering a range of issues in the targeting of the health sector, through which Israeli occupation forces have created a "war biosphere". Read more

MSF mourns and condemns the tragic killing of our colleague in northern Gaza

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) are mourning the loss of 31-year-old Nasser Hamdi Abdelatif Al Shalfouh, our colleague. Nasser was killed by shrapnel injuries he suffered to his legs and chest on 8 October in Jabalia, north Gaza. Since 7 October, Jabalia has been under relentless attacks by Israeli forces, and people have remained trapped since then without being able to flee.

Nasser died from his injuries on 10 October in Kamal Adwan hospital. He is survived by his wife and two children.

Last remaining hospitals in north Gaza under siege and people trapped

“While the northern part of the Gaza strip is under siege since over two weeks, it is absolutely crucial to ensure the protection of the few remaining functional healthcare facilities,” says Anna Halford, MSF emergency coordinator in Gaza, Palestine. “People must continue to access medical care and lifesaving treatments. We call on the Israeli forces to immediately stop their attacks on hospitals in north Gaza.”

MSF concerned following loss of contact with Dr Obeid at Kamal Adwan hospital in north Gaza

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is deeply concerned for the safety and whereabouts of Dr Mohammed Obeid, an MSF orthopaedic surgeon who was sheltering and working in Kamal Adwan hospital, north Gaza, whom we have lost contact with since the afternoon of 25 October.

MSF outraged by killing of our colleague in south Gaza

Médecins Sans Frontières is outraged by the repeated killings of our staff in Gaza, Palestine, and calls for an immediate halt on attacks against medical personnel, humanitarian workers, and civilians.

The Broken Lens: Antimicrobial Resistance in Humanitarian Settings

Report11 November 2024

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) poses a growing threat in humanitarian and low-resource settings, particularly in conflict-affected regions where fragile health systems, access barriers to healthcare, and environmental contamination amplify its impact. Since 2014, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has made reducing the AMR burden a key priority, integrating it into its broader medical humanitarian efforts.
