Ministry of Health in Gaza
🚨The Israeli occupation forces detonated a robot in front of Kamal Adwan Hospital, which caused shrapnel to reach the surgical departments and patients' accommodation, causing serious injuries to Dr. Hassan Dabous while he was on duty
About the Platform
The platform "Documenting the Targeting and Destruction of the Health Sector in the Gaza Strip" presents accurate and detailed information about the Israeli assault on health during the genocidal war. This includes data on the attacks on healthcare facilities and health workers who have been killed, abducted, tortured, and maimed by Israeli forces during the genocide, and relevant statements by international organizations and healthcare institutions. These are complemented by original analysis by researchers and authors covering a range of issues in the targeting of the health sector, through which Israeli occupation forces have created a "war biosphere".
If implemented, it will ban UNRWA from operating in the occupied Palestinian territory.
This is part of broader efforts to erase Palestinian history and identity.
The bill is due to come into effect in just under 4 weeks.
Foreign Minister Barthe Eide,
Prime Minister Mustapha,
Dear colleagues, ladies and gentlemen,
In just two weeks, two laws aimed at ending UNRWA’s operations in the occupied Palestinian territory will enter into force.
Full implementation of the laws will ban UNRWA from operating in the “sovereign territory of Israel” and ban contact between Israeli authorities and the Agency.
This morning, I briefed the Security Council in a closed session.
I welcomed the ceasefire and hostage deal in Gaza.
I joined the Secretary-General in calling on all parties to ensure the deal is fully implemented.
We need rapid, unhindered and uninterrupted humanitarian access to respond to the tremendous suffering in Gaza.
A ceasefire is only a starting point.
UNRWA is ready to support the international response by scaling up aid delivery.
After 470 + days, the people of Gaza hear the sound of playing children instead of bombardments and airstrikes.
Our UNRWA teams reported a first good day of the ceasefire; aid and some commercial supplies started flowing in smoothly.
Three hostages were at long last safely released, while Palestinian prisoners have now reunited with their families. Thank you, ICRC.
The ceasefire must continue to hold and all elements of the agreement must be implemented.
It is a step in the right direction towards long-lasting peace and stability for all.
AMMAN- UNRWA welcomes a much-anticipated disbursement of EUR 16 million from the European Commission. This payment is the remaining tranche of the EU’s contribution to the Agency for 2024, bringing to EUR 82 million the EU's total assistance to UNRWA’s core budget for this year.
The Members of the Security Council emphasized the vital role of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in providing life-saving humanitarian assistance to Palestinian refugees through essential education, health, relief and social services programmes and emergency assistance in the occupied Palestinian territory, Jordan, Lebanon and the Syrian Arab Republic.
A joint United Nations convoy delivered urgently needed food to communities in southern and central Gaza today. A total of 105 trucks successfully completed their journeys along the Philadelphi corridor and adjacent routes - which has provided food for nearly 200,000 people.
