The Israeli military ordered the director of the Kamal Adwan Hospital, Ahmad al-Kahlout, to evacuate the hospital.

Occupation forces reportedly killed 3 children, including a newborn in an incubator in Kamal Adwan Hospital, due to power cuts. Occupation forces also bombed the vicinity of the hospital, martyring 60 people and injuring 1,000.

Occupation forces bombed the gate of the hospital, martyring at least four people and injuring at least nine. Medical sources also reported that more than 35 bodies in and outside of the hospital, could not be buried due to the intensity of the Israeli airstrikes.

Occupation tanks shelled the hospital, rendering it out of service.

The Ministry of Health evacuated most patients and medical staff from the hospital. The hospital is largely non-functional and has stopped receiving new patients, due to heavy fighting in its vicinity, exacerbated by the lack of basic medical supplies, water, food and fuel. 20 patients remained in the facility and could not be evacuated.

Occupation forces surrounded the hospital, and snipers climbed the buildings surrounding the hospital, firing heavily in the direction of the courtyards and patients' rooms. The Ministry of Health stated that medical staff and the wounded were without water, food or treatment.

On December 16, 2023: Occupation forces withdrew from the hospital after four days of siege.

Occupation forces stormed the hospital, arresting its director, Dr. Ahmad al-Kahlout, and all medical staff. Everyone was interrogated and some tortured inside the emergency department and al-Kahlout and more than 70 medical staff were abducted to an unknown destination. The occupation forces shoot at some of those released, injuring five people. 65 wounded and 12 sick children in pediatric care remained at the hospital without electricity, water, or food.

And on December 14,2024 The Ministry of Health announced that occupation forces force all 2,500 displaced people to leave, and evacuate the remaining injured and medical staff to the hospital yard. The ministry also reported that the occupation army prevented medical staff from providing care to 12 infants in intensive care and 10 injured people in the emergency department, resulting in the death of two patients

Occupation forces withdrew from the hospital after four days of siege. According to initial reports and video footage published by the media, an Israeli military bulldozer flattened the tents of a number of displaced people outside the hospital, killing and injuring an unconfirmed number of people, and 90 people were detained by the occupation army.

UN OCHA announced that the hospital partially resumed its services in the middle of January 2024, despite persistent challenges, including shortage of personnel, including specialized surgeons, neurosurgeons, and intensive care workers, as well as shortage in medical supplies.

The UN Human Rights Council reported that 15 children died of starvation at the hospital, and that fears were growing that the numbers were even higher at other hospitals. 

Occupation forces targeted the vicinity of the hospital with artillery.

And on May 18, 2024 ,occupation forces continued to target the vicinity of the hospital with warplanes, artillery and drones. The occupation forces also targeted a residential square with warplanes, which resulted in the martyrdom of 28 Palestinians, including 10 women and 10 children. The hospital had received 40 martyrs since the morning. Director Dr. Abu Safiya appealed for fuel and medical supplies in light of the hospital's overcrowding due to the ongoing military operation of the occupation forces in Jabalia refugee camp.

Occupation vehicles advanced to the vicinity of the hospital and targeted its surroundings with firearms and artillery. The Civil Defense announced that the hospital was out of service, although it continued to receive the injured and wounded.

Occupation forces partially besieged the hospital after targeting the northern gate, while tanks advanced from its eastern side, and occupation snipers targeted anyone who tried to approach the hospital. 

Director Dr. Abu Safiya stated that the occupation forces targeted the gate of the emergency department with missiles.

Later in the day, the hospital was evacuated from patients and medical staff under heavy fire, and the WHO announced that occupation forces targeted the hospital 4 times during the day and that 20 medical staff and 13 patients were trapped inside of the hospital.
